Track 1 is the original soundtrack to "Gasherbrun, die leuchtende Berg" (English translation: The Dark Glow of the Mountains), Werner Herzog's 1984 documentary about Reinhold Messner (the German alpinist who first ascended Mount Everest alone, without any medical assistance, in 1980).
